I've never denied being a stalker, but after this I truly feel like a stalker!! In November John was invited to participate in a celebrity golf tournament in Monterey, with NFL players benefiting the boys and girls club. Our good friends from Chicago were also invited to come and play in the tournament. While our husbands golfed, Tina and I went to the Spa, Shopped and roamed around Monterey. Now I'm not a big fan of Dancing With The Stars, but Tina is..... and ever where we went we would run into Jerry Rice!! He was kind and took a picture with Tina and talked with us for a bit... But I'm sure after the 3 day of seeing us cross his path, he was thinking stalkers!! On our last night there our husbands get this great idea!! since we keep seeing Jerry Rice we should get his autograph.... and of course now that we want to see him, we don't..... But we know which golf course he is playing at and what time his tee time is!! Needless to say I think he was a bit shocked when we came out of the bushes carrying 3 footballs for him to sign!! He was kind enough to sign our balls and we got out of there fast, before security could be called!! I'm sure he was thinking restraining order :)

Last Football Game....
The Varsity Football Team made it to the playoff games this year. They lost the last game, but it has been a fun season. On a sad note!!

Besides this being the last game, it's also the last football game Jessie will ever cheer at as a HighSchool Cheerleader. Infact it is the last game she will ever cheer at as a HighSchool cheerleader. She graduated HighSchool mid term and is now off to college at BYU Idaho.

It was a beautiful day the weather was perfect, every thing ran smoothly and the bride and groom looked perfect!! The only problem was my broken toe that hurt so bad in my cute shoes!! Ben is a great addition to the family.

My shoes for Mandy's wedding that I could barley get my foot into and than hurt so bad to have on!!
My foot the morning after!! I was bringing firewood into the house for our nightly fires, when a log hit my foot, it did not fall on my foot, but hit it. And this is what it looked like the next morning, blue green and swollen. 2 weeks before Mandy's wedding!! And it got worse before it got a little better!!

Two days after I injured my foot, John decides to play lumberjack, and go up to the hills to cut some firewood. While there he decided to take a hike. He had a Great Day being outdoors and in the fresh air. Until 24 hrs. later when he discovered he had a tick living in him!! Thats fine country living at it's best!!

Jacob had a great soccer season, he improved so much over the past year, that it was fun and exciting to watch. He scored a goal at the first game, and we love that he can be on the same team as his cousin Kaden. which makes for an even more fun soccer season!! Can't wait until next year!! Jacob and Kaden

Jacob looses 2 teeth

Jacob is 7 years old and has not lost a tooth yet, until our trip to the dentist. He was complaining that he had a tooth growing in, I figured it was his back molars, so I didn't think much about it. Until he was complaining how much it was hurting. Finally I had him show me the teeth and there behind his baby teeth, his adult teeth were coming in. I made a phone call to the dentist and a few days later 2 teeth were pulled out. Jacob was very brave!! I'm sure it hurt alot!! The Tooth Fairy brought him $4.00, he was very excited!!

This post is dedicated to Mandy.........So Mandy doesn't feel that there are many post on the family blog about her..... When I was in Ut. I got to spend the week end with her, and Josh.......We went to In N Out, and met up with Ian and Andrew Potts, and than went to the corn maze.
Ben is next to Mandy, We drug him around with us every where.....even to our tradition of walking threw Wal Mart at all crazy hours..... He was a very good sport.
We did some bowling up on the BYU campus. I'm not sure who won, but I know it was not me!! I have more pictures of Mandy on our fun week end, I just Have to find them......

Friday Night Football

There were lots of news stations at the game, along with a radio station.... channel 3 took these great pictures, I raced home after the game to watch the news and see if I could catch the high lights....Jessie was on channel 40 and channel 3. It was a very fun and exciting night!! Go Eagles

Jacob sorted all he's treats to see which kind of candy he got the most of.... I think crunch bars won.
Jacob's loot from halloween, The apples and twix were from Bel Air, the grocery story gave them out free, if you brought in, a child in a costume. It was a very fun night!!
For the ward Halloween party Jacob was a zombie clown!! He was very scary!! His friend Paul was Frankenstein. Jacob and Paul had fun running around and trunker treating.......
So for Halloween Jacob was a clown, he had lots of fun!!

So Jeremy Left for his mission, he wasn't able to go straight to Brazil, due to the fact his visa has not come in. He was a little bummed by this but still anxious to get going on his 2 yr. church mission. Jessie and I surprised him and flew to Ut. with him and than meet up with Josh, and we all dropped him off at the MTC in Provo. We have been waiting to get an email from him, we got our second one today.And true to Jeremy's form it was about 5 sentences long!! We expressed to him before leaving that we would be anticipating these weekly emails, and that he MUST keep us up to date, with what is going on with him...... lets just say next weeks email better be alot longer, with alot more information and details!!

The Turtle

Today on my way to pick Jacob up from school, there was a turtle crossing the road. So I stopped picked up the turtle from the road, put him in the back of the truck. I was a little late picking Jacob up, but when I told him why I was late and he saw the turtle in the back of the truck, all ways well!! So of course when we got home, we had to put the turtle in the pond. Thats country life at it's finest!!

Tonight we had a very fun family night, we went to the Smith/Pack's annual Halloween pumpkin carving party. There was good food, fun with family and friends...and of course the carving of the pumpkins!! Jacob made a vampire pumpkin, while jessie free hand a design and carved out haunted houses. Jessie and I were lucky to score Taylor swift tickets for our birthdays!! Thanks John!! Mandy came to town to go and Jessie invited her friend Sierra. We had a great time........ but before the concert Jessie had a football game to cheer at. It was 100 degrees out, we left after the half time. Taylor Swift put on an amazing concert!! She is a very talented young lady!! We also had amazing seats that night section 101, nothing but the best for us!!

This past week has been homecoming week, which ended with a football game on Friday night and a dance on Saturday night. Jessie went to the homecoming dance with her friend Caleb. The dance wound up not being as much fun, so they left with a group of people and went to the movies. She said she had a fun night, later that night she had some friends over for ice cream and movies. This is our last homecoming week for a few years.

This kid cracks me up!! Jacob is in second grade this year. Mrs. Smock is his wonderful teacher for the year. We have been lucky to have 3 other children have Mrs. Smock as their teacher. Mandy,Jeremy and Jessie all have been in her class. we are off to a great school year, I'm sure we will have many adventures this year in second grade, and lots of learning experiences!!! We will see how Mrs. smock does with having a 4th Chandler in her class!!

High School Reunions

Tonight was John's 30 year high school reunion. It does not feel or seem like it has been 30 years since we were in high school. It was a very interesting and fun evening..... Its always fun to see if you can recognize people, and to hear what others have been doing with their lives for the past 30 years. Well after going to John's class reunion, I really don't need to go to mine next year, since the class of 81 always thinks I was in their class. When actually I was class 0f 82.

I finally did it!! I should have taken a before picture, but I didn't think of it until after the old blinds were down. I had been wanting to do a change for awhile, because the blinds in the family room where old and broken. And try as I may to fix them and get a few more years out of them, it wasn't happening......... So when John was gone out of town, out with the old and in with the new!! It really does look alot better. I still have a few things to do to the new curtains, let the hem out, stitch the panels to gather, and steam them to get out all of the wrinkles......... But the change is good!!

FOOTBALL SEASON

It's that time of year again at our house, Friday night football games!! I love high school football games..... this year Jessie is on the varsity cheer squad, she has cheered all 4 years of high school. This year she is a captain on the varsity squad, she is front row, center position and she loves it!! Our first game was not on a friday night, but on a saturday night, because it was being televised on ESPN2. This was a very exciting game!! Jessie was on tv at least 4 times, and our team won!! We are off to a great season, so if you are looking for me on a friday night, you wont find me at home. I'll be at the high school football game, cheering on the players and the cheerleaders!!

What We Have Been Doing......

Well, we have been busy around here this last week, Harvesting the garden and fruit trees. It was a family effort to get every thing on the list done. Here is a list of a few things we did~ Apple sauce, Apple pie filling, Pear sauce, Green beans, Salsa, tons of peaches sliced and frozen in the freezer, Zucchini bread and Banana muffins. And the house even got cleaned, laundry all done, including the ironing..........It sure feels good to have this all done!!

So after our trip to Hawaii John was complaining about not being able to hear out of his left ear, he had a sinus thing going on, so we thought that was maybe the problem and he took antibiotics for 10 days and still he could not hear out of his ear.......so i bought an ear wax softner and we put drops in his ear, but he said it was worst!! so on mothers day I made him go to the urgent care. ( he had refused to goto the doctors because it would just be a waste of time) So while we are waiting to see the Dr. at the urgent care john tells me how he's gonna be telling me I told you so when we are done!! Ya to bad I got to tell him told you so!! He had so much wax build up, that the Dr. could not see inside his ear!! so 8 flushes with w surrenge and look what came out!! Yes that is a huge piece of wax!! He can now hear!! and we have hidden the Q-tips from him since he loves to clean his ears out daily, which is what caused his problem!! Lesson learned-DO NOT use Q-tips every day!! Also listen to your wife, cause the wax softner would have eventually solved your problem :)

LAST DAY OF FIRST GRADE

Jacob was in first grade this year, and he had an amazing teacher. I got to help out in his class 2 times a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I also got to help with class parties or any other fun thing that was going on. This was a very fun year at school for Jacob, he learned so much, and became really good at reading, spelling and math. We will miss Mrs. Hengle, I told her she could Keep Jacob back in first grade and we could have her next year, But when we got his report card it was recommend he move onto second grade. On a happy note we will see Mrs. Hengle this next year school, at all the football games because her daughter is on the varsity squad with Jessie. Also another fun thing-Jessie had Mrs. Hengle for first grade....

This is just a few things I have been doing. Strawberry jam and lots of it!! I thought I had made plenty, but Jeremy calculated that what I had made was not enough, so more jam was made!! I think we have plenty now!! Also cherries, when they finally ripened we had a ton this year, we could not pick them fast enough or invite friends over to pick them. Jacob help me pit the cherries we froze a lot of them, he became very good at using the pitter!!

Jacob was honored for being a scholar athlete for baseball this spring, it was a very fun evening and also fun to see how many of his team was there being honored!! Good job Jacob!! We are very proud of all your good work you do!!

Hawaii

In April we had the chance to go to Hawaii for a week, and Jacob was the lucky kid who got to go with us. He also got to fly first class. We did lots of things on our trip, but Jacob said the most fun was 1-swimming in the ocean, 2-playing games with Scott and Katie, and 3-flying first class!! We meet up with the Town's family and had an amazing time!! We went to the Polynasian culture center, and Pearl Harbor, than we flew to Maui for 5 days of fun!!

This morning was the "Donut Dash" and also Jessie's 17 Birthday!! But she got out of bed early to run with me, although I walked and she ran!! Jacob came with us but he was on a scooter, I wasn't sure if he would make the 4 miles. The weather was good for the dash. It rained before and after, but was dry while we ran/walked. We were prepared to be rained on, but I'm gald it didn't rain on us:)

He was so sweet and sent her roses to school asking her to go to prom with him, and Jessie baked him brownies to say yes. Jessie looked amazing!! And Tanner wasn't to shabby either. This is Jackson my nephew, and I love this kid!! He always gives me a hug when I see him, and he wants to tell me things and show me what he's packed in his back pack, and he wanted to sit on my lap and chat it up with me, instead of sitting on his moms lap!! One of the fun things we have been doing is roller skating!!! We went during Thanksgiving break with the cousins and it was so much fun, that we have been back a few times.... This time Jacob was trying really hard to win a prize. He won!! Playing the Dot Game, he was so excited!! He picked 25 tokens and won a parachute man that you throw in the air. And thanks to his cousin Chandler who went skating with us back in November, Jacob loves to skate and can do it all on his own. Besides the games, Jacob loves the fast skate. Each time we go he gets faster and faster. So much fun!!! We will definitely be doing more family skating........

Jacob has been learning about the different Continents at school, so Friday was Explorer Day. I got to be South America. A clue was read and the kids had to guess where they were? And then they got a prize. It was a very fun day.....but i didn't get any pictures of Jacob the explorer. Next time!!

Here are some of the things I've been doing this weekend, I brought the canner home from the church cannery and canned come Steel Cut Oats, Sliced Dried Potatoes,and Dried Hash Brown Potatoes. Early in the week I had gone to the cannery and canned some Hot Chocolate. Now to start thinking about what I will be canning next month........

Today I got to attend the BYU Folk Dancers Performance with the youth of our stake. They were in need of drivers and I was asked if I could help. Jessie is in a floral class at school, she made a beautiful christmas wreath for me for the holidays. I was reading a blog about reusing your holiday wreaths,so I pulled the christmas things off and added some hearts and changed the ribbon and it's good for another month!!Plus I needed more pictures, so i could figure out how to post and up date my blog... Mandy would be so proud, I have only had to call her 3 times and only need to go fix 1 thing, but I did it all on my own!! Expect to see more up dates in the near future and not so far in between!!

So John planted an amazing winter garden this year!! It was so BIG. We gave lots of vegetables away to friends and family. Well this past week John, had Jacob pull all the carrots and beets up. So I pickled beets!! 7 pints, but I think Josh and I are the only ones that like them!! They look like they were done professionally!! Like you would find them in the store.

During the Christmas Break, we were trying to go bowling as a family. But we were not able to. So before Mandy left to go back to school, we were able to go!! Jacob and Mandy went to the store with me to get John a garden tool and jacob insisted he needed one too. So he could help in the garden of course!

Mandy, Jessie and I went to dinner and the Carrie Underwood concert. It was a fun girls night!

WE have a bouncy baby boy (hopefully) at our house! Junes baby was born today (finally) around 3:30pm. We are so happy that it finally arrived and we were worried that this day would never come!!

Saturday gardening time! we had the whole family out there working on our summer garden! we planted squash, cucumbers and tomato plants! Yum! cant wait until they are ready to be eaten.
Happy birthday Jacob! he is officially 6! ladies back off soon enough he will be dating ;) We had a nice birthday dinner with the family and the grandmas (and norman) He got rollerblades which he is still learning how to use!! We told him now that he is a 6 year old that means he has to sleep in his own bed (that will never happen!!) he just laughed at us... He also got to pick out his cake and he picked transformers because they had rings you could wear. We love that little guy!
Jacob turns 6! birthday lunch at chevys where he got his hat. he loves it.

Jacob is rocking the Giants jersey this year for baseball! His team is the bad news bears but with each game they are gradually getting better and better... who knows maybe by the last game jacob wont strike out too many times!
We went to tahoe for spring break and put jacob in ski school and boy did he love it! He wanted to go the next day! He was able to ski with John, Jessie, and jeremy who were all very patient and careful with him! We will be skiing again with him in no time :)
Jacob has found a new love for the snow. He can spend hours out there just by himself building himself forts and digging around in the snow. He will climb and just find all sorts of things to keep him occupied.
Jacobs class had their p.t.a performance during february and they sang love songs and were so cute!
Jacob got student of the month! WAHOO!! we are all so proud of him. Not to be a proud mother, but he has to be one of the smartest kids in his class!

Jeremy and Jacob got all the toy story legos and spent some brother bonding time building... most the time it was jeremy telling jacob to stop touching them. They had fun in the end though.

Sugar Cookies

Just this year, the women in our family (Jessie, Mandy, Chelsea, and Me) have begun a Christmas ornament exchange. The ornament I gave out was a sugar cookie of their initial (fake of course) and with it entailed sugar cookies!

I was planning on just doing store bought cookies that we could roll out and punch out, but... Jessie insisted on having her cookies be the real deal. I assumed this would be easy, especially since she wanted to "make them herself." Boy was I terribly wrong. Between her yelling "mom it's not working come here!" and "get away i'm doing it myself" I began to believe my daughter was bipolar... I mean did she want my help or not???

By the end of the night my kitchen was a wreck, flower was spilt all over the floor, counters, and i'm pretty sure there was even some on the cieling. Although it was a very stressful night, Jessie had a great time making sugar cookies.

So does that count for laundry, dishes, picking up messes... etc? Hahahah.
